Acid
Brick Washing
This technique has been developed and improved so that quality
safety and efficiency of the service can be guaranteed.
The
quality is provided by using our specially adapted machinery
to pump a consistent carefully measured acid solution
onto every brick in a wall. This automatically and reliably
generates a completely uniform end result.
Traditionally
acid brick washing has been done by hand using a bucket
and brush. This method has the tendency to leave a mottled,
patchy and un uniformed finish, particularly as it is
difficulty to get to every brick with the same enthusiasm.
The
safety is provided by never applying the acid under any
form of pressure through a hand or machine type nozzle:
The method we use with a low pressure pump without a nozzle
is therefore always under control and the there is no
fine spray to drift off the area being treated. This ensures
the safety of other site workers and equipment.
The
process is quick in comparison to a hand washing process
which results in a reduces time we are on site and thus
limits the potential of exposure of acids to other site
workers and jobs in progress.
The
metered dilutions of acid used in our system ensure the
optimum amount is applied without compromising a quality
finish or compromising the local environment.
We
comply with the relevant Health and Safety directives
and our staffs wear full PPE when on any construction
site.
Due
to the equipment and systems we use we are extremely quick
to apply the acid and by using a cold water pressure washing
machine afterwards we ensure all the brickwork is efficiently
“finished” to a high standard.
This
efficiency translates into competitive commercial rates
when compared with other ways of acid brick washing.
